Used on a 2010 Macbook Pro @ 1080P resolution. Works great for normal type computer activities. However, watching 1080P .mkvs causes stuttering. Still good cheap solution for going multi-monitor on a MacBook Pro.

Purchased it to watch internet movies on TV. It works to direct laptop screen output to a Sony HD TV. But when I changed to media player to full screen mode, the TV screen turns black. Tried many sites with the same result.

This worked fine for windows 7, and I think it worked fine previously for the mac. Haven't gotten it to work well yet with Linux, and the device does not enumerate yet with Mac OSX Lion. So early adopters, be warned. There was a little lag when moving windows on the screen, b/c USB 2.0 is only so fast. But all in all, it gives you the additional monitor you want. If you're looking for high end, this isn't quite it. But, it was well worth the purchase.

Great device for simple connection to HDMI port on TV. Used in my wife's classroom to connect older PC to hi def TV. Worked first time on XP system. Also worked on my 64bit W7 laptop as a test.

I recently bought a new laptop, and I need dual monitor output to reference picture files on the side. It works very well for displaying non-video intensive applications. I can display large picture Jpeg/Png files on my 2nd LCD monitor (some files are nearly 100MB big), and I can pan and scroll in the picture viewer with no delay at all, it's that good. I used to do this on an desktop computer with dual monitor out, and this device display just as smooth, I can't tell the difference at all. It can even carry audio signal if your monitor supports it. If you need to add display to your system, but don't have any output, this thing works extremely well beyond my expectation, beats those that cost over hundreds of dollars but at a fraction of the cost. I am very happy with it.

This device works perfectly except for the audio. The audio does not transfer properly using 2 different computers. It transfers for a second but it then goes out. The video transfer works very well after installing the software. I guess I will have to get extra speakers and route the sound through the headphones. I don't think the audio flaw is worth sending the device back.

Haven't used it much yet, but it does do the job nicely. Glad I bought it.
