This one is a keeper! I've been thru a few of these USB/Wall outlet combos. This one has been performing well!

I liked the first one enough that I ordered 2 more.

This works great. I have it plugged into the outlet on the side of the kitchen counter where phones and iPods generally sit. I can just plug them into the USB ports to charge, and it is nice to have 3 AC outlets I can use for other purposes.

The LED stops working after two months. The time for charging takes longer than other 2 A charges.

Huge disappointment. The title DOES says "2.1A Total", but when looking for that information, I was looking at the technical specifications. It says "5V 2.1A." If they were combining the amperage of the 2 ports, it should also say it's a total of 10V. That would be absurd, but so is combining the amps in the specs. Not only is it misleading in the specs, it's less than a standard 1A charger. While charging my phone the amps jumped all over the place. An old Apple A1265 charger charges my phone at 5.09V .52A consistently. Using the same phone and cable, this charged at 5V and an average of .33A (.28A to .37A). That's worse than my PCs USB2.0 port (.43A). I was thinking it would be fine for overnight charging and I did want to use this in my bedroom. This isn't good for that either. That clear bar you see at the top lights up a bright green "Protected." I probably like my bedroom darker than most people, but this was brighter than my large digit alarm clock.

This is a great product for adding USB ports to kitchen outlets or anywhere you have easy access to the wall outlet. It replaces the cover plate so be prepared to remove the plate and secure this in it's place. Just need a screw driver for that. Securing it with the screw gives it rigidity and makes it easier to plug and unplug stuff. Only two concerns, one is there is a green light on the top to indicate the outlets are surge protected and the 2.1 amps refers to both ports combined. So if you are charging one device, the output is 2.1 amps but if you have two devices plugged in at the same time its 2.1 amps divided by 2. iPad's charge best at 2.1 amps. So I would not use this in a bedroom or anywhere the green light would be an issue, or if you need higher power output with two devices at the same time. Still I highly recommend this power outlet for what it does. Looks good to!

I have 2 of these at home and gave a couple as presents too. They look nice and appear to work well. I did not test the 2.1 A ability -- will it charge the iPad quickly like the 10 watt (2 Amp) Apple charger? Dunno but it does charge the iPad overnight. Surge protector is an added benefit.
