This little box is amazing. It streams perfectly through wireless or your wired network netflix, hulu, amazon to name a few. The picture quality is very good and the 5.1 sound plays nicely through my home theater. There is also an active forum with developers that have other channels available too. The interface is well laid out and zippy. While ,marked as refurbished it was in excellent condition. The remote is RF rather than IR so you don't need line of sight which is cool. I wish it had a built in upnp player. I would recommend this little device.

Great little device. Bought it for my girlfriend's kitchen TV and had it set up via ethernet (wired) with Netflix and Amazon Prime in minutes. The WiFi setup looked pretty easy, but I didn't have to go through it. The remote was a little feisty at first, and stopped working in the middle of the setup, but after resetting it (with the little purple button under the battery door) all was well. I appreciate that the remote is RF, because the Roku itself, even though it's small, can now be hidden away in the closet behind where the TV is mounted, leaving the area around the TV itself clear. One thing to note: if you're setting up Netflix, you should use a computer to verify the device code. I tried a number of times to verify it via my iPhone, but every time the device would not register. As soon as I did it from a laptop, it worked fine.

Get a ROKU as this is the top of the line model. Ordered this on sale 2 months ago and initially thought I had a problem. Contact ML and not an issue it will be replaced but ended not needed. 2 hard resets using the reset button was the fix. Wireless not so good in my situation. VERY POOR and lots of buffering, this with a 30mbps service and dual band (optimized for HT) gigabit router. No problem with any other wifi device here. Solution was to hard wire CAT5 to the XS and now all is well. REALLY REALLY enjoy this ROKU XS and use it quite abit. Heck, if you don't mind older/indie flicks, the content is more than ample if one wanted to drop NF, which I am considering. If you have Amazon Prime, alot of the VOD is free/included with membership, a double bonus in my opinion. The reason 4 instead of 5 stars is because RF is used, most universals are all IR. Big $$$ for a Harmony that does both. The OEM isn't bad to use tho.

These really are as easy to use as they claim. I paid $99 at Target earlier this year for this model. I had it up and running on my protected wireless network in about 10 minutes. The on screen interface is easy to use too. I would recommend one of these for anyone who has kids/elderly that just need something that works! I only really use NetFlix on it. It has dozens of other channels available, but they are mostly crap...sorry. For me, it's been really nice to go back and watch things in hi def that I originally saw in standard def. Like Battlestar Galactica and X-Files, which both look great on the TV I can afford now! Oh, and the Roku web site is easy to use to manage the thing. They will ask you to enter a credit card, but I can ASSURE you that they do NOT charge anything to it unless you really really really say it's OK each time. No weird monthly fees or anything.
