This thing is worthless! It does not support DMA mode, which means that all data transferred to and from your drive must go through your CPU. Your CPU will not be able to keep up with your drive, so if you're using an optical drive, you won't be able to burn CDs or DVDs any faster than about 4x. However, that is the least of my concerns. This product does not have master/slave emulation, so you can only use one drive. You cannot install other IDE drives alongside a drive connected with this product. This product also does not comply fully with either SATA or IDE/PATA standards. When I installed it with a single SATA optical drive, the computer recognized the drive, but the drive could not read or burn any disk. I then purchased a similar product from another website and installed it with the same drive, and everything worked beautifully. I do not recommend that anyone buy this product. I will never shop at Meritline again unless I receive a full refund for the product.

This product is fantastic. I love love love it! The Sata to IDE converter is extremely fast. I definetely recommend this product. I could use it with my eyes closed.

Meritline.com Verified Buyer I tried mine on two different pc's w/ three different hard drives. No combination worked, at best I got the drive to detect, but it wouldn't get past the bios summary screen. Going to attempt to warranty it.
