Didn't work. Tried everything. AHCI/IDE mode, on GSATA controller/SATA SB700 controller, jumper on master/slave CS and jumper off. Keep getting SRST failed Error 16 or Softreset failed. Tried on DVD ROM/Harddisk nothing works. The disks themselves work if I connect directly using a IDE cable. Not worth the aggravation

Installed easily and has worked without a single hiccup since I purchased this from Meritline about six months ago. I really needed this for one of my older boxes, a P4 2.33ghZ box that needed a new hdd, Meritline came through, once again!

device didnt work, and the IC get very hot. The photo on the packaging on the one I received is wrong. The photo clearly shows the device plugged into an IDE socket on the motherboard running an sata drive. I believe this converter is strictly, sata (host moboard) to IDE (hard drive).

Bad product, do not buy. SATA or IDE protocols have not been implemented completely in this adapter. Format operation of IDE hard drive fails. IDE hard drive was connected to motherboard SATA port through the adapter. The adapter may help to read data from old IDE hard drive to a new drive. I will not trust my data to this peace of equipment. The adapter gone to a trash can.

Did not work at all. In fact it killed something in my system. I had a older IDE-SATA converter working and after trying this one nothing works now, not even the old one. Probably fried the drive or controller. Not worth it looking into. Ordered a new SATA drive. I have 20 years computer experience.

Did not worked for me. There was no instructions on how to connect this card to drive and motherboard but I googled it found some help. Tried everything I found on web but nothing worked. Stay away from buying this item is not reliable at all.

Hi Meritline folks! Please consider adding more specification info and more photos/angles for this item. The Power Molex adaptor and the SATA cables are self-explanatory. However, the IDE connector is never photographed at the correct angle; only the backside/welding is shown. Is the IDE connector steel pins (male), or is it plastic receptors (female) ?? We need to know before buying, even at this great price.

It will not fit on the motherboard hits too low should have been straight or 180 from what it is. You would be better to get the one that isn't 90 degrees. The computer did not let me format the hard drive so didn't use.
