I bought this to charge HP touchpads (which have the same power requirements as iPads). This product does work but I'm disappointed that it will only charge the touchpad if it is completely turned off -- I was hoping to be able to still use the touchpad while it was charging. I'm sure that it would be the same situation for iPads -- you will only be able to charge if it is completely off/shutdown.
