SHIPPING SPEED - GOOD: Ordered 2012-10-19, shipped 2012-10-22, received 2012-11-06 in Dallas, Texas, USA BUILD QUALITY - FAIR: I already owned the smaller AA version (SIPIC SK68) of this light, and they are approximately equal in build quality. This light (SK98) has slightly-better threading on the tail cap, but a looser/wobbly fit of the sliding/focus head. Still tight enough to hold focus, but probably not in an appication subject to shaking, like on a bike handlebar. BRIGHTNESS & FOCUS - GOOD: The SK98 is about twice as intense as the SK68, with a larger hotspot. When focused "tight", both project a clear image of the rectangular LED chip and bond wires. MODES AND MEMORY - POOR: This was disappointing. The five modes (bright, medium, dim, strobe, SOS) do all work, but there is a flaw in the programming. Instead of memorizing the last used mode, the light alwasy comes back on in the NEXT sequential mode. Turn the light off in "dim", and it will be "strobe" the next time!

I have the 188-912-001 (Q3) Sipik SK68-3W 1AA and this light (Sipik 98-5W 1-18650)is many times brighter. I note that meritline rates the SK68 at 280 LM and other sites show it as 120 LM. Also other sites rate other T6 1-18650 lights at 900 LM. It does have multiple brightness setting which is great because you could not possibly use it close up at maximum brightness. My 5-0 neighbor freaked when I showed it to him and ordered his own on the spot! This is a great little light.

what funkychateau said I'm pasting in his good comment below as this ruins the light for me: MODES AND MEMORY - POOR: This was disappointing. The five modes (bright, medium, dim, strobe, SOS) do all work, but there is a flaw in the programming. Instead of memorizing the last used mode, the light alwasy comes back on in the NEXT sequential mode. Turn the light off in "dim", and it will be "strobe" the next time!

WOW! Very cool light and might I add.... IT'S BRIGHT! I use a 2200mah AW cell in it and it gets pretty decent runtime. I compared it to my Fenix LD10 with a 14500 in it and it blows my LD10 away. I'm really liking this light.

Great light! Much, much brighter than my LedLenser P7 which is what I was hoping for since I knew this wasn't 1000lm light, but it kills the P7.

I do not believe this is really 1000 lumen light, but it is quite bright, on par I say with SKU 0003575-001, which is a lot larger. Based on this comparison, it probably produces closer to 600-700lm. Make sure you have a decent 18650, well charged, and also when you turn it one go through all the modes, as it goes through 3 levels of brightness and 2 flashing modes. For $9.99 it is quite a decent deal on 18650 light.

Quite bright - I really like except for the one flaw (also mentioned by others) - Instead of remembering the last used mode, the next time you turn it on it comes on with the NEXT mode :( Other than that, a GREAT LIGHT !

Worked great until the solder points failed. The wires connecting to the LED circuit came loose. I jury rigged it (I don't own a soldering iron) but for whatever reason high power now longer works. I own it's smaller brother, the 1 AA version that looks identical to this. I thought that one was wicked bright until I turned this thing on, it makes the AA light look like a candle! Normally when installing batteries, one must insert the flat side into the spring, however with this flash light the opposite is true. I am not sure if this is true with all 18650 batteries. Some polarity markings would have gone a long way, but the packaging was a bit light on directions (non-existent!)

I ordered two of these lights because my experience with the smaller 188-912-001 Q3 AA torch lamp has been outstanding coupled with the Trustfire Li-ion battery. I ordered four Trustfire 18650 batteries and charger to go along with my order. They arrived today and they are exactly what i expected, Great quality, Excellent fit, Perfect size and easy to hold with one hand. I popped in the Trustfire 18650 and WOW!!! The brightness is more than i expected based on a few reviews here. This is now my FAVORITE flashlight and i plan on ordering a few extra. The smaller AA version will go to the kids and wife (they love them and are perfect for kids when they are out exploring, perfect size for their little hands) The 5 modes work perfect on this light. If you purchase this light you will not be disappointed. Excellent quality, Great fit in the hand, EXCELLENT brightness w/Trustfire 18650, 5 modes work!!!!!!

Very bright! They are much brighter than the 300 lumen version of similar looking flashlights from amazon. They are bigger but still small flashlights. The 5 mode is very handy. It does have memory and will turn on in the last mode it was on when you turned it off. In flood mode it is excellent. The lighting over the entire flood area is evenly lit. highly recommend.
