Well, I've opened the box, but I feel cheated because the Meritline discription claimed "Extra secure-locked by three separate locking mechanisms" where in truth this box has no locking mechanism at all. Normally puzzle boxes require something to be slid before something else will slide or some other secret move. I would love to hear what they think the 3 secrets are, my count is zero.

The box arrives just shrink wrapped with no instructions. I own many other puzzle boxes, but so far have not been able to open this one, am not completely convinced that it isn't glued shut or will require excessive pressure. The Meritline photo of the box open isn't any help, since it shows a different box open! (four slats on the top of the box rather than 5 on the closed box).

Open hard for small hands. Pring dishonor to family for your order.

I like it! Trick is look at the Meritline photo, place a finger on one corner, and your thumb on the diagonal corner, pull.

The box can be opened as shown in the photo. It is pretty well hidden box, I give it that. But there are no "3 separate locking mechanisms" promissed. Doing search on internet using same subject line, I can see similar boxes only with 4 wrapping bars instead of 2 here that require 2 other parts to be moved before drawer can be opened. But this box does not have this feature. All you have to do here is to pull the side out.

Works great. A little tight/stiff at first. Had to watch the instructional video on this site to understand how to open it myself because there were not useful instructions included.

horizontal piece broke off when I applied too much pressure trying to open it... but then it's a puzzle box, so that sort of treatment is expected.

I Feel sorry for those who couldn't figure out how to open the box. Look at the photos or watch the meritline video, it is easy to open when you know the secret on how it opens. Great price and perfect for keeping your USB or SD cards in. Great for keeping small thing where others can't get them.

My son loved this after he figured out how to open it. Once you know it is easy. It is very difficult if you do not know how to open. We could not find the extra secure secret drawer and believe it is from the description of the larger box, not this smaller one. A good deal when on sale. Will probably buy more.

I just got my boxes yesterday. I ordered a two pack and I love them! One is a X-mas gift. I'll put 5 bucks in it, and let them figure out how to get it, lol. It was tricky the first time, but now its pretty easy. Thanks meritline for helping me when it didn't show up the first time. Great customer service, and great product.

Liked: Once I opened the box for the first time, it was simple to open the box. The size was perfect. It is difficult for other people to open unless they know the secret. Hated: The first time I tried to open the box was tough. However, after the first time it was easy.

My 17 year old son has more fun with this! He tests all his friends, and thinks it is great fun. To keep a teenager occupied for a couple of hours is awesome! Now...bearing in mind in it not exactly as described and is very difficult if you do not know how to open. He broke it twice, glued it, and finally figured it out about 3 hours later. We could not find the extra secure secret drawer and believe it is from the description of the larger box, not this smaller one. It was a good deal, and on sale. Cheap entertainment...our favorite!

This small version does NOT have a second secret drawer! (larger versions do) As one person guessed, mine did in fact, come "glued" shut..by the finish. Opening required carefully running a small knife around the edges where it opens. It remains however, a small wooden box that is nice for kids or little items.

The box was challenging until I watched the video. A few days after removing the shrink wrap I gave it to my son who opened it very quickly. Why? Because the wood had apparently dried out enough that the drawer now opens when you tilt the box. I had to soak it a minute in water to restore the tightness. Too bad it is so susceptible to drying out. Secret drawer is not so "secure".

A very fun toy. I learned how to open it first then tricked my children, "wow daddy, you opened it!!" We had a wonderful time on this couple dollars little tricky thing. Now it's a storage for some dollar coins and USB dongles.

I got this to give to 10 yr old grandson for birthday - about the same price as a card, I put money in drawer and wrapped it up. Took him a while to figure out... for the price this is great. It is not a complex multi piece secret box... but grandson enjoyed much more than a Halmark card!

I was pleased with the overall construction of this little box except for the fact that after opening it the first time it seemed to have loosened up and if you tilt the box in a certain direction, the drawer opens. other than that i had a good time watching the g/f try to open it and found a little gift inside! Worth the money.

I got this as a joke gift for my dad, but since receiving it I want to keep it. I'll defiantly be ordering a few more. Yes, it's a pain to open the first time, but it gets easier the next few times.

After studying the pics on the site a little more, finally figured it out. Grab the two opposite corners that appear to have hairline cracks and pull only on those corners. comes right out. Son loves it!

Looks very cool, but can't open it. The video on the site, when I click to start it, says "Private Video", so it's not much help. Even after logging in, it won't play. The youtube version appears to have been taken down. I can't find any other video resources. Anyone have any written steps to open?

This box is exactly as expected, its not designed to actually keep anything secure, but to be more of a puzzle. to the person who commented on the fact that they feel cheated because the description was wrong. there are two different wooden boxes sold on here. so either you bought the wrong one, or you received the wrong one, but in no way are the descriptions inaccurate.

It's a great novel item. My friends and I couldn't really open it until we saw the video. The wood doesn't feel too sturdy in some parts of the box but it's good enough. The only bad thing is its size, it's just too small to really hold anything. Probably money or small jewelery and that's it.

This product contains elements known to the state of california to cause cancer. Not worth the buy. Save your money. you can't fit anything in the opening. It's about an inch big after opened.

It's just like what you see in the pictures and video. Opening is very small so don't expect to be able to stash more then a few coins or rings in it. Well worth the sale price I paid.

This is a fun little gag. Every time I show people this, we get a good laugh. It seems impossible to open at first, but once you discover the trick, it is really easy.
