These are excellent CD's for a professional look. Not actually "Silver" but better yet render a very nice effect of prismatic color throughout the print giving an almost 3D effect. Anyone looking for a unique backing for a print design should seriously consider this product. AND! A purchase through Meritline.com is well worth the transaction!

Bought 50 silver water shield an yes I agree with mike they are not as silver as one would think or like. Plus, I tested one by running under cold water and there seemed to be a slight breakdown in the coating yet the print wasn't harmed in the slightest. Although, not many people are going to run cold or hot water over the disc, I would recommended NOT drying with a cloth or paper tower for it will scratch the coating. Let it air dry. By that it may, they are still the best purchase in it's class. By the way ... watch out for "bootleg" Taiyo Yuden Water Shields!

Was surprised to see they are not really as "Silver" as one would expect although the disc do have a prismatic effect rendering them a more professional look than the "White" discs. I'll keep them and used them seeing that most of my clients like the "silvers" look over the "white". However, change the description so as not to be so misleading.

This product is the only one of its kind. As such, it is invaluable for my purposes. It does what it claims and leaves your finished printing on the cd with a nice glossy finish. This certainly helps to add a great look to my projects and I'd recommend it to anyone hoping to improve the look of their cd projects.

The Taiyo Yuden silver watershields are FABULOUS CDs and DVDs. They have an iridescent glow that looks amazing. I've made hundreds of these and they not only look very professional but I've never had a Taiyo Yuden that didn't burn properly. Don't buy a similar model from Produplicator - they look terrible and they won't let you return them!
