Installed and win7 found drivers without issue, Win 7 installed as Realtek RTL8169/8110 (NDIS 6.20). Under old 100 card 2.42 Gig file copy from server was 11.2/MBs taking 3:33. With new card 70/MBs taking 35s. HOWEVER, after loading card with larger 10GB file sustained rates went from 65 quickly down to 25 after a few minutes. The heat on this chip is literally blistering scalding (to my brief finger check). A similar NIC at another etailer includes a heatsink stick-on chip to be put on by the customer. I believe after load this chip slows down to a crawl due to excessive heat. So now this deal is much less as I look on ebay for a cheap heat sink to see if sustained copies can be improved. Or I could have just spent $15 and no hassles at the other etailer. If you just want to use this card for *short* copies and basic browsing it'll probably be fine. Put on a server expecting heavy or sustained copies and I'd look elsewhere as the heavy usage heat degrades the NIC down to 10

Bought this card from Meritline & installed it into my home server (old HP box running FreeBSD 8.0). Install was painless and FreeBSD recognized it & uses it without any issues. I'm using it with the Tenda 8 Port gigabit switch - Item Number 216-274-001. Note: It doesn't come with a low-profile bracket, so take that into consideration.

Work well. However, make sure your computer's hardware IS able to send data up to 1Gbps as most regular desktops cannot.
