I was worried about cheap chinese compasses but this compass points in the right directions and hasn't fallen apart yet. My robot vacuum snatched it and drug it around the house and it still works fine.

Cheaply made, but just what I would expect for an inexpensive compass. Works well enough so long as you hold it flat and don't jiggle it while the needle moves around.

This is an EXCELLENT compass! Liquid filled so it doesn't take forever to settle down, easy to read, and hard to lose since it comes with a rope lanyard. It will sure make it easier to aim my antennae and ensure that I don't get lost in the woods! ;-) Great price and great quality as usual. THANKS AGAIN, MERITLINE!!!

It's a pretty good compass. Responds well to movement and has degree measurements so you know what angle from north you're looking at.

IT works .... for the price, you cant beat it. I do not think I would want to really put my life in the hands of a cheap compass, but for teaching the kids the beginnings - it works great.

The actual product is awesome! Was expecting something a little smaller. Something of reference like a pencil or deck of cards should be placed in the picture next to it to get an idea of the size. Gonna enjoy this item anyway. Just a suggestion.

very good basic compass with neck lanyard ...cheap price, but well made...not for use with maps, but lets you know what direction you're headed, and that is a compass's main function..

Works, but very basic. This compass isn't at all "damped", nor very precise, but it's a good size for a casual use rough compass. It has notches in the raised plastic face to make reading easier, but the clear face is raised so as to scratch easily, rather than recessed and protected by the outer ring with heading markings. It does have map alignment lines on the base, though a larger rectangular compass is easier for map use than this small round style.
