Works fine, doesn't appear to cause any slowdown because with a Class 10 MicroSDHC card I am getting about 17MB/sec read but I can't remember the write....I think around 12MB/sec. But I agree with another review about the cap. WHY can't manufacturers MAKE CAPS THAT FIT, and, that are CAPTIVE?? IMPORTANT NOTE: These MUST BE USED WITH A POWERED USB HUB and the power ON! I'm not even sure USB ports on a mobo have enough power. I first tried this with my powered USB hub OFF, and it DID NOT WORK. But any other devices work fine with the hub off! It appeared to work but I got errors after copying anywhere from 500mb to 1gb of data. Turning the hub ON solved this and it worked fine after that. This MIGHT be due to the MicroSDHC card I am using (16gb Class 10), but it's something to keep in mind.

cheaply made. cap does not even fit, falls off, can lid lose easily. then it just fell into 2 piece after 2 uses.

It works well enough in my Windows XP pro. It is somewhat compact but not as much as some others. The cap cover doesn't clip closed, only slides on to wedge in. I like the ones where you can't actually lose the cap to the thing. Performance is fine. Actually one of the better readers that DO work. Keychain hole is a plus too.
