I've ordered from Meritline before with good results but was a bit concerned because the price for this USB to Parallel adapter cable was less than 25% that of other providers. However, it arrived within a few days and worked exactly as promised, enabling me to get my aging but functional printer working with newer PCs and Macs. There were no detailed instructions about how to set up the computers included but with a little Googling, I was quickly able to figure out what I needed to do. All in all, with was a great value that has worked fine with multiple computers.

Order was delivered in a week. Product quality is a little flimsy. The sad part is that it did not work. I connected the parallel end then connected the USB end to the computer and nothing happened. Computer does not recognise any printer being connected. Tried re-booting, going to settings, etc. I ned to find a driver or something to make this adapter work. I'm stuck with a corded paperweight I guess. :( SMURF! Please send or post any solutions to get this thing to work. THXS

I haven't actually used this with a device yet, but I did plug it in and plug'n'play auto-recognized it (no drivers needed). If you have anything beyond Windows 98, up to and including XP, I would think you'd be okay. Haven't tried it on the Vista-ish type OS's yet. The drivers CD is messy with a bunch of irrelevant stuff on it. You shouldn't need it. You may need to install your parallel device as non plug-n-play, I don't know (I always do anyway). If you don't know how to install a (printer) driver manually, you either shouldn't be buying an unusual adapter like this, or you should employ someone who has the skills. Like any other arcane adapters or software, or devices which rely on embedded plug-n-play software, your best bet still is and probably will continue to be XP. If you do go vista/7, 32-bit is the way to go unless you need more than 4GB memory. I think it's a stretch to expect an old piece of purely plug-n-play hardware to work with Vista. If it doesn't, COMPLAIN T

No idea how to get this to work. Doesn't see the printer. No instructions, just a bunch of drivers with no specification as to which one to use. I'm using Windows 7 x64.

Can not get it to work on my Window Vista PC. No instruction, just a CD with a whole bunch of drivers that contained everything else but the product purchased. I am fairly knowledgeable with PC, maintain network system and PC's for my company. Emailed question several days ago. No response. Not worth returning so I trashed it.

The adapter was a life saver for me. I used to have this printer as a network printer and when I moved it to my home office, couldn't get it to work, the adapter saved me! Now it not only works, it loaded the drivers itself on my new PC and I didn't have to do any googling at all to install anything. My printer is a HP 4200 Laserjet so it's a big printer but very functional and I did not want to have to buy a new one. Meritline as usual came through for me!

Worked great for a while but I need to re-install the driver from the CD-ROM. Does anyone have the driver that they could upload or email to me?
