My HP 4L laser printer is parallel only but my NetBook only has USB. This is the PERFECT way to connect the two. It works as if my printer had USB. Love it!

No errors, but does not print. Drivers seem to be installed correctly. I did a Google and found two suggestions. 1) Clean the contacts -- still won't print. 2) Install a powered USB hub -- still won't print.

Perfect solution for using an old Centronics laser printer with a laptop that has only USB port for printing. I plugged my HP 5L into a Compaq Presario V500 running Windows XP and it instantly recognized and installed the printer. I was printing a test page within 30 seconds. It did not work when I connected my printer to my Dell computer with Windows XP OS. The printer worked before with my old Dell computer using parallel printer cable.

I could not make the Parallel to USB cable work between my Mac OSX and my HP printer. The software driver seems to be faulty.

The CD has no instructions on how to install drivers. Couldn't get my laser printer to work with cable. Waste of money

This adapter works but limits the functionality of the device (no data coming back). Also, any XP HID malfunction can render it useless. I have three computers --it worked on only one and long cables could present more problems. If you absolutely need this, give it a try but it's still a compromise.
