I work for a small computer company and all our techs use these drives for extra storage. We have more than 10 of them and have never had an issue. I would buy this drive a hundred times over.

I have always stayed away from "Factory Recertified", however my Western Digital My Book Essential 1 TB USB 2.0 Desktop External Hard Drive, is work just great. I recieved it within a few days of my order (this has always been great from MeritLine). Connection was simple. I had to go online to download the backup software. No software came installed on the drive. A very good overall experience.

The drive was never recognized by my laptop nor my desktop. I can not rate the drives functioning cause it never fuction. Maybe next time, return it and received full refund, Thank you Meritline

The refurbished hard drive works fine. However, it came with a broken power button and missing one of the two rubber "legs" on the bottom.

Works perfectly like my other Western Digitals. Wish they would make it optional to easily make one large partition though, I don't use their built in software.
