Meritline.com Verified Buyer This device has performed poorly and unpredictably. After disconnecting the WD software, the drive performs acceptably as a bare hard drive. I do not recommend its purchase, especially the "Factory Recertified" ones. Do a Google search and you'll find a multitude of these WD Factory Recertified drives for sale.

Meritline.com Verified Buyer Received this quickly as usual from Meritline. Seemed to have trouble at first with the preloaded WD Smartware but after disabling it (via Western Digital's instructions at http://www.wdc.com/wdproducts/updates/?family=wdsmartwareutilities), it now functions like a normal hard drive. With the low price, I am now very satisfied with this purchase.

Meritline.com Verified Buyer Opened the box, unit did not work, tried on another computer, still did not work. Contacted WD and service rep. said recertified were not covered by warranty. Supervisor said that was wrong but still waiting for a response on return. Don't buy!
