All the fans out there, The Walking Dead season 10 is taking a midseason break after its eighth episode. And you can expect it to return in early 2020. This long-running zombie horror series has been really doing very well and its season 10 has been teased already. It can be seen that The Walking Dead apparently doesn’t need Rick Grimes to survive AMC’s apocalyptic ax for it is doing well enough.

Just like season 9, the 10th season of the AMC series is adapting the “Whisperer War” story arc from The Walking Dead comics. And now the second half of the season is likely to continue the story as the conflict with Alpha, Beta, and the Whisperers heats up.

The Walking Dead season 10 is going to represent an important shift for the series, as this one is going to be the first full season without its original protagonist, Rick Grimes who exited the show early in season 9.

When will The Walking Dead Season 10 return for Second Half?

AMC seems to have confirmed that the second half of The Walking Dead Season 10 will return on February 23, 2020, in the US. While the show will have the midseason premiere on the UK will air on Monday, February 24 on FOX UK.

The Walking Dead Season 10 Part 2 Story Details

The season 9 and season 10 of The Walking Dead has been focusing on the Whisperers. Now for those who are wondering what upcoming tenth season has stored for the fans, then an extensive trailer was released at Comic-Con in July 2019. And it was just no clips but the trailer flashed numerous scenes, characters and hints giving the potential storyline for the episodes.

One of the primary themes of the trailer came out to be fear, not of the undead, but rather of the very much alive Alpha and her army of Whisperers. The central part of the upcoming season is assumed to be the still-looming threat of the animalistic villains and it is likely that both will continue their interpersonal conflicts between the members of the commonwealth, and even a probable all-out war at some point down the road will be seen.

Aside from these themes of fear and war, the trailer also witnessed the major developments for several individual characters. Alpha’s liberated daughter, Lydia, is shown, serious and sober, practicing with a staff that looks an awful lot like Henry and Morgan’s weapon of choice. The sequences also seem to reveal a quick clip of Michonne and King Ezekiel who were seen sharing a moment ending with the pair lip-locking, signaling the heroine’s first chance to find love after the loss of Rick Grimes.

The Walking Dead Season 10 Cast

Well, it is very obvious that all one can expect to see all the surviving cast members where Daryl and Carol will continue to be the forefront of the show. Unfortunately, this will be Danai Gurira’s final season as Michonne on The Walking Dead.

Another news is that seven cast members have been promoted to series regulars: Cailey Fleming (Judith), Cassady McClincy (Lydia), Lauren Ridloff (Connie), Eleanor Matsuura (Yumiko), Nadia Hilker (Magna), Ryan Hurst (Beta), and Cooper Andrews (Jerry).

AMC is currently in talks with Lauren Cohan to see her return as Maggie. It was also revealed that the show’s version of Dante, a character from the comics is also set to make an appearance on the screen. Dante is described as a fast-talking rogue and will be played by Juan Javier Cardenas.

Two new cast members were revealed during the series’ SDCC 2019 panel: Kevin Carroll (The Leftovers) has also joined the cast as a character named Virgil, described as “a highly intelligent and resourceful man desperately trying to get home to his family.”

Wrapping Up!

The Walking Dead Season 10 second half looks like an interesting intersection of a growing list of antagonists. So do not forget to watch it out on February 23, 2020, in the US on FOX.

Till then stay tuned for more updates on the series.
