Bohemian Rhapsody, the 2018 biographical drama film was highly accoladed at the Oscars. The Freddie Mercury biopic definitely deserves a second part but is its sequel in store? The film was based on a British rock band by the name Queen and Freddie Mercury, its lead singer. The first part of the film concludes with the 1985 concert and the announcement of the star singer being affected by AIDS. However, he dies in 1991, with the release of three more hit albums by the star. So there has to be a sequel, Bohemian Rhapsody 2 right?
Let us begin the various theories that we know of the Oscar-gilled film right now.
Where Did Behomian Rhapsody End?
The Queen biopic concluded with the iconic performance of the band in 1985 at the Live AID. While the show aimed to spread awareness about this disease, their lead singer Freddie Mercury reveals that he himself has contracted the virus. They not only then reconnect with their families but also give a fabulous performance to raise money for the HIV/AIDS charity. In the concert they perform songs like Radio Ga Ga, We Are the Champions, Hammer to Fall, and Bohemian Rhapsody.
The movie ends with a tribute to Freddie who leaves for the eternal path in November 1991. the film basically ended with the events of 1985, as it was the natural culmination of the band, according to Brian May, the lead guitarist of the band.
For the Queen Band, it was one of their best shows, that got their performance mind-blowing response. They had a completely sold-out concert and so ending the film on such an astonishing note was surreal.

Will Bohemian Rhapsody 2 Happen?
Bohemian Rhapsody is one of the best musical biopics until now. It takes its audience on a tour with the popular British rock band, Queen, showing its rise, and the tragic incidents that followed. Rami Malek, who played the role of Freddie Mercury the lead singer of the band also bagged an Oscar for his performance. The film in totality was critically acclaimed at all the Award shows. And so the discussion of its sequel started.
However, amongst all the rumors of Bohemian Rhapsody 2, the lead guitarist of the band, Brian May has dusted off all of it and said that it is a little difficult. He further added, that there were a billion things that they did not show in the movie, just to make it watchable. the band had discussed with the movie producers about the sequel, and it doesn’t seem to be happening in near future. However, if situations change, then you might get to see another masterpiece.
Bohemian Rhapsody 2- What Can You Expect?
The second part of the Queen movie will possibly focus on the tragic incidents that followed after 1985. Bohemian Rhapsody ended with the band’s performance at Live AID in 1985, and so they can now focus on their last concert together and the making and success of their two more albums called- “The Miracle” in 1989, and “Innuendo” in 1991.
The next installment can also cover the media speculation around the illness of Mercury. After his illness announcement, everyone threw health questions at him, which he refused. Further, he gave a sweet shock to his audience by making an appearance in 1990, Brit Awards. Six months after the death of the singer, a tribute concert was held at the Wembley Stadium, London with an audience of 72,000 including performances by Elton John, David Bowie, George Michael, U2, Robert Plant, Guns N’ Roses, Roger Daltrey and Metallica.
And so we believe the second film can focus on the reinvention of the Queen band especially after the demise of their lead singer, and the exit of their bassist. There are a lot more fan theories for the second part, but there is no official announcement from the makers, actors, or the band members about the same.
Wrapping Up
The audience has been eagerly waiting for the return of Rami Malek as Freddie Mercury and to know the events that unfurl after the Live AID concert. But after Brian May’s statement, it seems that we will have to wait for an official announcement for the release. Till then let’s hope for the best.
