Well, with Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman book series adaptation which aired in February on BBC Two, the fans are really very curious to know if there will be a second season. Along with airing on BBC Two, the Good Omens also premiered on Amazon Prime in 2019.
Good Omens season 1, stars, David Tennant as the demon Crowley, and Michael Sheen as the angel Aziraphale. This one is an epic take on theology and philosophy that is just as bizarre as it is profound, thoughtful and pertinent.
Similar to Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman novel it is based on, both Amazon and the BBC’s Good Omens, follows the story of an angel and a demon as they try to avert Armageddon on Earth. Although if it is believed the story tells a fairly contained story, that concludes with its sixth episode and not especially setting up any future series.
What is Good Omens about?
So basically the story begins in pre-apocalyptic 2018. According to The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter Witch, the world is due to end in a week, and Judgement Day is almost arriving.
As per the official synopsis, this is where Tennant and Sheen’s characters come in:
“Aziraphale, a somewhat fussy angel, and Crowley, a fast-living demon—both of whom have lived amongst Earth’s mortals since The Beginning and have grown rather fond of the lifestyle—are not actually looking forward to the coming war. And… someone seems to have misplaced the Antichrist.”
What happens in Good Omens Season 1?

After the successful collaboration of Amazon’s adaptation of Gaiman’s American Gods and the continued interest in the late Pratchett’s work, Good Omens has already gathered a massive following and good reviews.
The series one of Good Omens follows the demon Crowley and the angel Aziraphale who are now accustomed to life on Earth, but according to ‘The Nice And Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch’, the world will end on a Saturday.
“Next Saturday, in fact, just before dinner.
“The armies of Good and Evil are amassing, Atlantis is rising, tempers are flaring. Everything appears to be going according to the Divine Plan. But the twist comes when someone seems to have misplaced the Antichrist.”
As Joe Lewis, Head of Comedy and Drama at Amazon Studios, put it: “This spans not only the universe but also the entirety of time.
And it’s worth mentioning that Neil Gaiman has created a story which could be one of the largest ever told on television.
Will there be a Good Omens season 2?
Season one Good Omens almost told a complete story, where its final episode did not leave audiences on a cliffhanger.
And according to the recent comments by the makers and cast hint that the show may go on, even if it’s not the same story Gaiman started with his co-author Pratchett.
Gaiman told RadioTimes.com on the set of the TV adaptation in 2017: “Terry and I also plotted a sequel to Good Omens that we never did. “It was about where the angels actually came from, which is why it was pretty easy to add extra angels (including Jon Hamm’s Gabriel) to this.
And so if the viewers are liking the plot then they could absolutely go back and come up with the more interesting story.
