It’s been more than a year after the seventh season of Homeland has been wrapped. The audience is waiting for the last piece of the puzzle which is yet to be released. The final return of Carrie Mathison has been announced with Homeland Season 8 that will air from February 9, 2019, on Showtime.

Homeland is a spy thriller series directed by Howard Gordon and Alexa Gansa. From its initial seasons, it gained praise from all over the world. And if you are a loyal fan of the show then catch up with the last and final season to know how it concludes.

Homeland Season 8- Teaser is Out

Showtime has released the first look of the final installment of its spy thriller series, Homeland. And after recovering from the long trauma, Carrie Mathison will be back with a bang. She seems to be all fit and fine in the teaser, however, you cannot tell about her mental condition.

Also in the trailer, Carrie is asked by a serious man- “Have you ever conspired with a foreign intelligence officer or service.” And she answers “Are you accusing me of something?

Later, Saul Berenson, Carrie’s boss states that everybody shatters under the Russian interrogation.

Homeland Season 8- Premiere Date

Initially, the show was set to be released in June 2019. However, it was pushed ahead due to a delay in the schedule. But now it is all set to release, and you can watch your favorite, Emmy-winning thriller drama series from 9 February 2020, on Showtime.

Homeland- Cast Recurring in Season 8

It’s going to be the final season of Homeland and so the main cast will be there for the final run. You will see Claire Danes as Carrie Mathison, and Mandy Patinkin as Saul Berenson. Also, the forthcoming season will feature a little jiggle from the fourth season. If you are not aware let me tell you that the fourth season was set in Pakistan and Afghanistan and featured Numan Acar and Nimrat Kaur in reprising roles.

In addition, to the main cast Hilary Jardine (Van Helsing) and Chamberlain (State of Affairs) will also be joining the upcoming season. Jardine will be playing the role of Claudette Fletcher, a freelance consultant with huge global network assets, who used to be a State Department employee. And Chamberlain will play the role of Mike Dunne, who is a CIA Station Chief in Kabul, Afghanistan.

Also, Linus Roache, Maury Sterling, and Costa Ronin will be returning for Season 8 of Homeland.

Homeland Season 8- Plot and Spoiler Alert

The official synopsis is already out which focuses on Carrie Mathison. She will be recovering from her long, ruthless imprisonment in a Russian Gulag. And as she recovers from her physical plight, her memory will be still affected. Seeing her student in such a condition will be devastating for Saul, her mentor.

As Carrie copes with her situation, Saul will be chosen to be the National Security Advisor to Warner, the newly elected President.

Meanwhile, with the help of his new Advisor, President Warner will try to end the war in Afghanistan. To accomplish his plan he will put Saul to work with the Taliban’s peace negotiations. However, the plan will not be executed as intended, and to clear the big mess Carrie will be asked to step in.

It’s going to be a fresh start, putting all the parallels behind. So don’t forget to watch it.
