Upcoming Bollywood Movies Set for Digital Release
Before the start of the Covid-19 pandemic and the nationwide lockdown, Gulabo Sitabo and Sooryavanshi’s release was highly anticipated. Lately, the makers of Gulabo Sitabo announced its release on Amazon Prime Video. This decision has created a wave of curiosity and excitement amongst the audience. Here is the lineup of the upcoming Bollywood films set for digital release.
Shoojit Sircar’s film starring Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann Khurrana is all set to release on Amazon Prime Video on 12 June 2020. It is a comedy-drama film, set in Lucknow where the two actors will be seen as two warring men. The film was originally going to release on 17 April 2020, in theatres worldwide but due to the denial of theatrical release, it will now be one of the first OTT releases.

The veteran director Anurag Basu is coming back with a dark-anthology comedy film called Ludo. It is a multi-starrer film featuring Abhishek Bachchan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Pankaj Tripathi, Raj Kumar Rao along with Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Sheikh. It is definitely the best time to release the film as the whole world is going gaga with the game Ludo. The talks of releasing the film on one of the digital platforms are happening. If everything goes right, soon you will be able to stream it on Netflix.
According to the poster of the film, it was about to release on 24th April 2020.
Jhund is another upcoming Hindi sports film starring Amitabh Bachchan, Rinku Rajguru and Akash Thosar. Directed by Nagraj Manjule, Jhund is a real-life story of the founder of NGO Slum Soccer, Vijay Barse. In this biographical sports drama, Amitabh Bachchan plays the role of a professor who forms a football team by motivating the street children.
The film might get released on Netflix if the theatrical denial still persists.
This EId, instead of a Bhai film, the Khiladi of Bollywood was brining his horror flick Laxmmi Bomb in theatres nationwide. However, its release has been postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The film is a remake of Kanchana, a Tamil comedy-horror film. Laxmmi Bomb stars Akshay Kumar in a never seen avatar before alongside Kiara Advani.
According to the reports the film might soon release on Disney+Hotstar.
Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl
Another Indian biopic film being made under the Dharma Productions and Zee Studios is Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl. This is a big project lead by Janhvi Kapoor who will be playing the role of Gunjan Saxena, an Indian Air Force Pilot. Gunjan was the first Indian female Airforce pilot in combat. The film also stars Pankaj Tripathi and Angad Bedi.
Here is the poster released by the filmmakers which say the release date to be 24th April 2020. However, we can expect its release on Netflix soon.
The Marathi film “Mala Aii Vhhaychy” is getting a remake and in this Bollywood film, Kriti Sanon will be in the lead role alongside Sai Tamhankar and Pankaj Tripathi. Kriti Sanon will be a surrogate mother in the film. Like the other films, Mimi will also be taking the digital route and will release on Disney+Hotstar.

The film is about the real-life story of Shakuntala Devi was also known as the Human-Computer. The film also stars Sanya Malhotra, Jisshu Sengupta and Amit Sadh in supporting role.
This film too will not be theatrically released instead will be available on Amazon Prime worldwide.
The younger generation of Bollywood, Ishaan Khatter and Anaya Pandey will be seen together in this new Hindi romantic action film, titled Khaali Peeli. The film also stars the current acting sensation Jaideep Ahlawat in the antagonist role. Directed by Maqbool Khan and produced by Ali Abbas Zafar and Himanshu Mehra, Khaali Peeli is one of the most anticipated films of the year.
This romantic film will soon be released on Netflix.
Shiddat: Journey Beyond Love is another upcoming romantic film starring Radhika Madan, Diana Penty, Mohit Raina, and Sunny Kaushal. The film is slated for a 2020 release.
