The third part of the Dabangg franchise starring Chulbul Pandey has finally released. We all are very well-acquainted with the lovable, larger-than-life cop and his world, but what is his back story? Dabangg 3 takes you back to the time when Chulbul was known as Dhakkad and his former life. The Dabangg franchise is quite popular but has the story done complete justice, let’s do a brief review and find out.
Dabangg 3 Movie Plot
The story begins with our favorite cop Chulbul Pandey saves a wedding from a goon who tries to loot it. On investigation, it is revealed that the local goon works for someone who in turn works for Bali, a powerful mafia. As Chulbul comes across this information, we are taken down the memory lane, back to the time when Chulbul used to be known as Dhakkad Pandey. Yes, you read that right. And this younger version of Pandey Ji is quite different from the quirky cop that he is right now. He is vulnerable and naïve.
Saiee Majrekar aka Khushi is introduced as the potential girl that Chulbul’s mother chooses for Makkhi. Dhakkad instead falls in love with her and the journey of Dhakkad to Chulbul Pandey begins. From tucking the sunglasses at the back of his shirt to becoming the Robinhood Pandey, Khushi joins the dots of the story. It’s their love story that converts into a revenge saga between the cop and Bali.
I’m sure you would have guessed till now that its Khushi’s love that led to the transformation of good for nothing Dhakkad to Chulbul Pandey.
Dabangg 3 Movie- Script Analysis
Salman Khan has written the story of Dabangg 3 or one can say that Salman Khan is written all over it. It is definitely one of those films which are made for the masses. Even in one of the scenes, he is seen saying that- I work for both classes and masses.
The film has used a lot of formulas that are used by lots of films and then combined it into one. And just like its previous parts, this film is also all about the stout-heartedness of the cop, however this time it also shows the vulnerability and innocence of his younger self.
The infusion of comedy in some of the scenes is quite nice, but sometimes it seems to be forced. Overall you will take back a lot of dialogues and memories after watching the film.
Dabangg 3- Cast Performance Review
Having played the character three times, Salman Khan knows how and when to use the traits of this lovable yet rusty cop. He is undoubtedly the source of full-too entertainment for his fans. His multiple heroic entries, dialogues, and swag mixed with the Chulbul style is spot on. he is all set to collect the whistles from the audience.
Sudeep as the villain is perfect! He is a real menace and one of the best villains in the complete Dabangg franchise. The south actor will blow your mind with his screen presence and the impactful and entertaining face-offs with Salman. However, with such fabulous acting skills, his role seems to be poorly sketched and could have been written better.
Sonakshi Sinha is getting better with Rajjo and by seeing her acting it seems that she is in complete awe with the character. However, due to the prequel track, her role seems to be limited. Saiee Manjrekar, who is making her debut as Khushi, Chulbul’s younger lady love looks beautiful and effective in her role. She is confident and pulls off her emotional scenes quite well.
Dabangg 3- Songs and Music Review
The Hud Dabangg Dabangg…song definitely plays in our minds when we think of the film. The previous two parts had some really good music and songs like Munni Bandnaam Hui and Fevicol Se. However, this time, the ever-energetic pair of music composers Sajid-Wajid have done a decent job. You might feel that they have thrown music unnecessarily, killing your watching experience and breaking your thoughts. Songs like Munna Badnaam Hua will definitely work its magic on its targeted audience, but other numbers serve no purpose. Even the background score doesn’t seem to impress much.
Dabangg 3- Complete Movie Review
If you are a huge Bhai fan then I’m sure you would love the film. It is definitely packed with punches and blows, but there are some loopholes. So let’s start.
Dabangg 3, the third installment of the Salman Khan production has a run time of 2 hours and 42 minutes. However, with more accurate edit, it could have been shortened. There is a long line up of songs that break the narration and stretches the movie runtime.
Nevertheless, there are many seeti-maar moments when you won’t be able to stop yourself from clapping and hooting. And on the top, Salman Bhai removes his shirt and flaunts his perfectly toned and greased body while beating up the goons. Yes, the action is fresh and solid, but the introductory action sequence seems to be unreasonably stretched.
As I mentioned above the story becomes quite predictable, it is not very consistent and loosely bound. However, it’s a good first try by Salman Khan. Overall it has all the ingredients, from romance, drama, action and a lot of music packed in one story. You will definitely see Salman’s star power here, as he reflects his swag and style.
Final Verdict
To sum it up Dabangg 3 is for all the Salman Khan fans out there. And if you are just looking for some entertainment then you can watch it. And don’t forget to look out for Sudeep as he is just brilliant in the film.
