The doctor is ready to return on New Year’s Day and she is up to something. The filming of the new season of Doctor Who has wrapped up and it is all set to premiere on 1 January 2020. Directed by Jamie Magnus Stone, Nida Manzoor, Lee Haven Jones and Emma, this 10 episodes long series will witness the return of Jodie Whittaker.

The first episode is going to be a two-parter starring the Thirteenth Doctor. BBC dropped the trailer for the 12th season and it looks quite promising. This sci-fi has earned a loyal fanbase and applause from the critics. So here is everything you need to know about this forthcoming season.

Doctor Who Season 12 Trailer Release

The official trailer of the thrilling twelfth season of BBC’s science fiction television programmer Doctor Who is released. According to the trailer, the starting episodes of the series are set in 1943, in the city of Paris. It is the time when Paris was under the rule of Nazis, i.e., during World War II. And so this time you can expect a lot of complicated mythology stories as well.

The trailer begins with Jodie Whittaker, the Doctor’s voiceover in which she is talking about some big crisis. And so if we pick up the hints, you can expect the entry of some monster in this season. Also, the trailer shows the control room of TARDIS, which is quite exciting. Lastly, the upcoming season will witness the return of Cybermann, the most famous and ultimate antagonist of Doctor Who.

The official release date of the new season of Doctor Who has been released by the BBC. The first episode will air on 1 January 2020, Monday on its official streaming service, BBC One. The showrunners had previously announced in 2018 that the new season will be returning to your TV screens in New Year. Doctor Who has been awarded various accolades and appreciations from the fans.

The makers shared the news on their official twitter handle saying the 12th series is on its way and returning in 2020.

New Cast of Doctor Who Season 12

New stars will be joining the original cast of Doctor Who this season. The roles of Stephen Fry and Sir Lenny Henry are yet to be announced, but according to the showrunners, they will be joining the core team.

Furthermore, ER’s Goran Višnjić will be making a comeback. He will be getting into the skin of inventor Nikola Tesla in the next installment. Even Robert Glenister, the Hustle Star will also return.

The latest series will also witness Neil Stuke who will be playing the role of Doctor Foster. You might not get to see him in complete series as he will be a guest star.

Furthermore, Jodie Whittaker, Bradley Walsh, Mandip Gill, and Tosin Cole will be reprising their roles as the Thirteenth Doctor, Graham, Yaz, and Ryan respectively in the forthcoming season.

According to the spoilers, the fans will see the return of The Judoon in the next installment of the show. The Time Lord will be seen terrorized by the former. Also, the rhino headed-intergalactic coppers who faced Martha Jones and the Tenth Doctor for 12 years will be returning. So havoc and destruction are a sure shot to happen.

Judoon is going to be on a deadly mission, Chris Chibnall the showrunner stated in an interview. Further, he added that the Gloucester streets will not be safe. Also stopping Judoon will be difficult this time and he is not going to stop until their mission is accomplished.
