Method 2- Use Quick Start

With Quick Start, it is easy to set up a new iOS device using information from your old device. Further, you can restore the data and content to your new device using iCloud backup. 

To set up a new iPhone using your current iPhone by QuickStart make sure both devices are running on the same iOS 12.4 or later. QuickStart offers the option of using iPhone migration that came with the latest iOS updates. This will allow you to transfer all your data wirelessly from your current iPhone to your new iPhone. It requires the use of both old and new devices.

Step 1- Turn on your new iPhone and keep it near your current iPhone running iOS 12.4 or later.

Step 2- The Quick Start screen will appear on your current old device and the option of using your Apple ID to set up your new iPhone will appear. Make sure of the Apple ID you want to use, then tap Continue.

Step 3- Next, wait for an animation to appear on your new iPhone. Later, hold your old iPhone over the new iPhone, and center the animation in the viewfinder. Wait for a message saying “Finish” on your new iPhone.

Step 4- When prompted, enter your old iPhone’s passcode on your new iPhone.

Step 5- Now follow the on-screen instructions to set up Face ID or Touch ID on your new iPhone.

Step 6- Once Face ID or Touch ID is set up, tap the “Transfer from iPhone” button. This will begin to transfer your data from your old iPhone to your new iPhone. You can also choose to transfer settings, like Apple Pay and Siri. Also to update the backup on your device, make sure that Wi-Fi is enabled on your device.

Step 7- Secondly, if you have an Apple Watch and you are setting up a new iPhone, you will be asked to transfer your Apple Watch data and settings.

Method 3- Using iCloud

Another method is a little lengthy and can be achieved by using Apple’s iCloud feature.

Step 1- Open Settings on your old iPhone.

Step 2- Tap the Apple ID banner. Then tap iCloud.
