#1: Babylon

Anticipated to be released on Christmas, Babylon seems like a movie to watch out for. The recent trailer looks quite promising. With actors like Brad Pitt, and Margot Robbie, and a genius director like Damien Chazelle, Babylon has the potential to be one of the best movies of 2022. This movie depicts the stories of several Hollywood people back in the 1920s. It shows how they go about chasing their dreams but fall prey to the evil of time.

#2: Don’t Worry Darling

Directed by the renowned Olivia Wilde, Don’t Worry Darling seems like a thriller mystery. The story revolves around a couple, Jack (Harry Styles) and Alice (Florence Pugh) in the 1950s who live in a utopian experimental town named Victoria that provides residency to their workers.  While the husbands are busy with their secret work, the ladies delight in the luxury, beauty, and gossip of their flawless lives. But once the cracks begin to surface, Alice starts uncovering snippets of something evil prowling below the surface. Alice can’t understand why she is still residing in the creepy town of Victoria. Don’t Worry Darling appears to be a psychological thriller that will keep you on your toes throughout.

#3: Amsterdam

Amsterdam is directed by the famous director, David O. Russel. Set to release in October, it is the story of three friends, a nurse, a doctor, and an attorney who become eyewitnesses to a savage murder in the 1930s.  The three friends are subsequently accused of the murder and reveal one of the most shocking schemes in the history of America. A serious drama with a little bit of comedy and mysterious elements is sure to keep you glued to your screens.

#4: Halloween Ends

In this movie, Laurie Strode is living with her granddaughter and is trying to forget the unpleasant memory of being attacked by a masked murderer, Michael Myers, four years ago. The killer disappears after the attack and Laurie tries to overcome her fears and go back to her normal life. But a piece of horrifying news circulating leaves her shocked. A young male babysitter is accused of murdering a baby he was hired to babysit. This sets off a series of violent episodes that make Laurie face the monster himself. If you like horror films packed with some thrill, this is the movie for you.

#5: The Fablemans

Directed by Steven Spielberg, The Fablemans is somewhat an autobiography of the director. The movie cast includes Michelle William, Seth Rogen, Paul Dano, and Gabriel La-Belle. It is made as a dedication to Spielberg’s parents. First premiered at the Toronto Film Festival, the film already won the People’s Choice Award. The direction, screenplay, and cinematography are being praised by critics.

#6: Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery

It is a detective mystery starring Kate Hudson, Daniel Craig, and Edward Norton. The sequel to the popular Knives Out which was released in 2019, Glass Onion is a great mixture of mystery, thriller, and comedy.  In the movie, Daniel Craig repeats his previous role as Benoit Blanc who is an expert detective working on a new case in Greece. Set to release in November 2022, it is a film to watch out for if you liked Knives Out.

#7: The Whale

Scheduled to hit the theatres in December, The Whale is a psychological drama based on Samuel D. Hunter’s old play that he wrote in 2012. It is the story of an isolated English teacher (Brendan Fraser) who is suffering from obesity and his efforts to reconnect with his alienated teenage girl.  This American thriller is the masterpiece of Darren Aronofsky and casts Brendan Fraser, Samantha Morton, Sadie Sink, Hong Chau, and last but not least Ty Simpkins.

#8: Black Adam

Black Adam is based in the old Kahndaq where Teth Adam is gifted with magical powers which he uses for revenge purposes and is hence locked up due to the misuse of his powers. Being imprisoned for at least 5000 years, Black Adam becomes a legend. After being released, he starts his justice system out of fury, which is challenged by heroes who form the justice system in the modern world. This film is an interesting combo of fiction, action, and adventure set out to release in late October 2022.
