Lost Girls
Lost Girls emerges to be a tormenting mystery-drama but is a must-watch. The film is based on Robert Kolker’s book by the same name, starring Amy Ryan, Lola Kirke, Thomasin McKenzie, and more. It is a true story about a mother, who is searching for her 24-year-old daughter. And as she drives the law enforcement agents, the search leads her to Long Island’s South Shore barrier islands. And what follows is that there are dozens of unsolved murders of young female sex workers.
The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, and you can watch it on Netflix in March.
Sergio
Sergio starring Ana de Armas, Wagner Moura, Garret Dillahunt, Will Dalton, Bradley Whitford, Brian F. O’Bryne, and Clemens Schick is a forthcoming biographical drama on Netflix. It is based on the true story about Sergio Vieira de Mello, a UN diplomat and a high-flying Brazilian official who is in the middle of a deceitful mission in Baghdad.
The film premiered on 28 January 2020 at the Sundance Film Festival and is scheduled to release in April on Netflix.
Eurovision
An upcoming Netflix comedy, written by Will Ferrell and directed by David Dobkin is Eurovision. The film starring Dan Stevens Demi Lovato, Pierce Brosnan, and Rachel McAdams is set in 1972.
It is based on the famous Eurovision Song Contest and focuses on the story of Lars and Sigrit, two Icelandic musicians who are representing their country for the first time in the Contest. Even though the trailer is not yet released, if you have seen the 2019 Eurovision performance of Iceland then you know what you are waiting for.
The Boys In the Band
Another Ryan Murphy project apart from The Prom is The Boys in the Band. It is also a Broadway adaptation of the 1968 Mart Crowley’s play. If you didn’t get a chance to watch that play’s revival in 2018, then you still have a chance. Netflix is bringing the playback, as a movie starring Jim Parson, Andrew Rannells, Matt Bomer, and Zachary Quinto.
The story is about a group of gay friends who come together to celebrate one of the member’s birthday. However, their reunion turns into turmoil when the party is crashed by a secretive roommate of the host.
The Prom
The Prom is a louder-than-life musical comedy film directed by Ryan Murphy. Inspired from a Broadway musical set in a small Indiana town The Prom is a story about a senior, who is a lesbian, being banned from taking her girlfriend as a date to her prom. And so a group of Broadway stars like Nicole Kidman, Meryl Streep, Andrew Rannells, and James Corden go to Edgewater, Indiana to take up the charity cause.
The filming and production are complete and you can expect the film to release in late 2020.
The Kissing Booth 2
After getting a lot of attention and success from the viewers, especially the teens, The Kissing Booth became Netflix’s most- rewatched movie of 2018. And so Vince Marcello is coming with its Sequel in 2020. It is an American teen rom-com, where Elle who has been best friends with Lee all her life, falls in love with his elder brother and high-school senior Noah and breaks their rule of friendship.
And so The Kissing Booth 2 will focus on the turn of events that will take place as Noah moves to Havard. Will their summer love be able to survive the coming fall?
Out of the Fire
Joe Russo, the director of Avengers: Endgame, reunites with Chris Hemsworth, the Thor for this globe-trotting action thriller movie. Written by Joe Russo and directed by Sam Hargrave, the film also stars the Stranger Things fame David Harbour. Hemsworth plays a mercenary who is hired to rescue a Bangladeshi businessman’s kidnapped son.
The Princess Switch: Switched Again
The 2018 American Christmas film, The Princess Switch on Netflix will be back with its sequel. The film which was based on The Prince and the Pauper saw where a duchess, who one week before Christmas switches her place with an ordinary lookalike woman from Chicago. Following which they fall in love with each other’s beaus.
The second installment, The Princess Switch: Switched Again will follow Duchess Margaret taking on the throne of her made-up country as she deals with some relationship problems with Kevin.
I’m Thinking of Ending Things
Netflix’s upcoming drama film is based on Lain Reid’s novel by the same name, I’m Thinking of Ending Things. Written and directed by Charlie Kaufman, this film is about a man, who takes his girlfriend to introduce to his parents. And even though she is contemplating leaving her boyfriend she agrees to visit his remote family farm. However, the visit becomes a terrifying detour for them, as things get spookier, as it mixes with psychological frailty, palpable tension, and sheer terror.
It will release in the first quarter of 2020, as per Netflix.
