Simply saying that YouTube TV can be installed on Firestick or Fire TV won’t work. So the question is which Fire TV devices support the app? The YouTube TV app can be easily installed on Fire TV Stick (2nd Gen), all-new Fire TV Cube, Fire TV Stick 4K, all Toshiba, Element, Insignia, and smart TVs of Westinghouse Fire TV Edition. Also, some of the previous generation Fire TV devices like 1st Gen- Fire TV Cube, 2nd Gen- Fire TV, and 3rd Gen- Fire TV (Pendant Design) also support the app.
However, the YouTube TV app is not supported by Fire TV Stick and Fire TV.
How to Download YouTube TV on Firestick?
You can install the official YouTube TV app on your Firestick device using two different ways. You can either install it through the Amazon Store, or there is an alternative method as well. So let’s check both the methods.
Method 1- Install YouTube TV app on Firestick from Amazon Store
If you are living in the States, then you can easily stream different channels through the YouTube TV app. And so this method won’t work for the people living outside the US.
Step 1- Open the Firestick device. On its home screen, there will be a search icon, click on it.
Step 2- Search for YouTube TV. From the list of results, choose the YouTube TV option.
Step 3- Then in the next window, click on the YouTube TV icon. Click on download and wait for a few seconds.
Step 4- After the app is downloaded, click on Open. Now if you have an account on YouTube TV, then enter your credentials and sign in.
If not then hit the Try it Free option. You can now make your account and avail of the services as you require.
Method 2- Install YouTube TV on Firestick using Downloader App
For the non-US residents, a third party application can do the same wonders as the original live YouTube TV app. The one and the only way to install any third-party application on a device is using the APK file. So let’s have a look at this method as well.
I hope you guys know that for installing any third-party application, you need to enable the Apps from Unknown Sources option.
Step 1- Open the Settings of your Firestick device. It is usually present at the top menu bar.
Step 2- Now click on My Fire TV> Developer Options> Apps from Unknown Sources. The toggle will be towards the Off-side, just turn it on.
Step 3- Now return to the Home screen. Then click on the Search icon, and type Downloader app.
Step 3- Choose the right app and install it on your device. You need to sideload the YouTube TV on this app to stream further.
Step 4- Now open the Downloader app. In case of any prompts, just close them. Now click on the Home tab and then enter the following URL in the space provided- https://www.firesticktricks.com/ytv.
Step 5- Hit the go button. Wait till the APK file gets downloaded. Then click on the Install option.
In a few seconds, the app will be installed. However, there are some steps that you might need to do before using the application. That is, delete the APK file.
Step 6- So click on Done> Delete> Delete. Now exit the Downloader app. That’s it.
Step 7- Now from the main screen, click on Your Apps and Channels option. Then choose the See All option and select the YouTube TV option.
Method 3- Use FireStick Browser to Access YouTube TV on Firestick
There is another method by which you can access the YouTube TV app on Firestick using the FireStick browser that is the Silk browser. Every Firestick device comes pre-installed with this browser. But in case you have un-installed it then here is how you will be able to reinstall it and stream your favorite shows.
Step 1- Go to the home screen of your Firestick device and click on the search icon. Search for the Silk browser.
Step 2- Click on the suitable Silk Browser option from the list.
Step 3- Then in the next window, again choose the Silk Browser icon. And then click on the download option.
Step 4- Wait for a few seconds until the app is installed on your device.
Step 5- Open the browser. And browse https://tv.youtube.com/ to access YouTube TV.
