Kodi is something that you need for streaming online content with full reliability. And while streaming at times you might come across some error messages. While researching for these errors on the Internet the most applicable solution that you will find is a clear cache on Kodi to fix errors. Now you have a variety of reasons where you will have to clear cache on Kodi like playback or slowdown problems. When you keep on using Kodi for the longtime the errors are common and thus clearing cache becomes essential.

So here in this article, I will tell you what cache is and how to clear cache on Kodi briefly and easily.

What is Cache On Kodi?

Cache basically refers to the residue of files from previous actions that may include browsing, streaming, playing media files, etc. Each action leaves behind a trace and residue of the files that are collectively stored in a placed called cache memory. When you stream movies, TV shows and other videos using Kodi add-ons they require a pre-buffered amount of data. This is to make sure that your videos are played without any pause every second. And Kodi saves this video buffer in the RAM, which is usually the 20MB allocated to all its add-ons by default.

But sometimes, to deliver high quality buffering addons override the default settings and save buffered data over the hard drive. Well, it proves worth for the high spec devices, but low spec devices will start displaying messages like “Cache is full, empty your Cache.” This then leads to slow video playback and buffering issues while playing high-quality videos.

Therefore clearing cache is one of the best things to follow if Kodi is not working and other related issues turn up. It will free up your space and will no more create buffering for video playback on your Kodi addons. This will provide you with excellent streaming experience and performance.
